Welcome!
Many people visit the ancient church in St Quivox village in South Ayrshire, Scotland, UK.
Church members come every second week to worship in the centuries old building - the oldest church in Ayr.
Some visitors come because they have seen the church and its ancient graveyard in passing, are intrigued by it, and want to experience some of its quiet and calm atmosphere.
Some come because their parents, or grandparents were married there, and they want to see for themselves the old kirk which contributed so much to the happiness of their family.
Some, from all around the globe, come to visit an old family grave or tomb,
and stay awhile to see the church.
Many visitors come from the United States of America to experience some real history of their forefathers, able to enter the very building in which their ancestors had sat and worshipped.
Some come, again from the USA, to learn more about the links of this church with the man Americans call "The Peacemaker,"
Richard Oswald of Auchincruive, who with Benjamin Franklin,
drew up the American Declaration of Independence.
Whatever your reason for visiting either this website or the old church in St Quivox village, you are very welcome.
Stay awhile, have a good look round and pop back every now and again.
The website is growing every day as more information becomes available.
If you'd like to come and see inside the church (once all the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted) then please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Minister or Session Clerk, whose details are on the contact page, and who will be only too happy to help.
