Winter Support Fund
Due to an increase in Utility Costs and the rising Cost of Living, the Scottish Government made grants available in an attempt to reduce the financial hardship being felt by families across the country. The Corra Foundation were responsible for receiving, issuing and managing applications.
We applied for a grant of £5000 and were successful in securing this money.
In total, we issued 128 grants to 83 households for gas/electric costs, food, essential household items and appropriate clothing.
We received referrals from a number of organisations including Dalmilling Primary School, Wheels In Motion, Blue Triangle, South Ayrshire ADP, South Ayrshire Council Housing 1st Project, RecoveryAyr, Lochside Foodbank, Scottish Fire Service and members of the community.
This grant allowed us to make new contacts and we’ve been able to offer further support to some and others have been referred to other agencies.
Thank you to the Corra Foundation and the Scottish Government for this grant.

Christmas Hampers 2021
Ho Ho Ho..
For some of us Christmas time can be a difficult period. Whether it’s an absent loved one, Coronavirus restrictions or rising utility costs!
So, we wanted to do something that might help someone who was struggling in some way at Christmas last year.
We managed to secure a grant of £1000 from the Arnold Clark Community Fund which was used to purchase hamper kits and contents. Each hamper had grocery items, sweet ‘treats’ and a £15 gift voucher for Pickens the Butchers.
We received referrals from Dalmilling Primary School for families needing a boost, whilst others were donated to people with various health conditions. We also ran a social media campaign which encouraged people to nominate someone for a chance to win a hamper. This was a successful strategy and it widened the profile of the North Ayr TheGither project, while rewarding someone from the local community.
We were able to give out Christmas Hampers to 26 households.
The Salvation Army Ayr supported our efforts as well by donating Christmas presents too!
Thank you so much to Arnold Clark Community Fund and the Salvation Army Ayr for their kind donations and to our volunteers for their support in making this happen!
