Bowling Group Prize-giving

Champions uncovered!!

It is amazing how quickly time passes, and here we are at the end of another season for the Bowls group.
Although small in number, we are all big in heart and certainly up for a laugh and our Leader - the Amazing Lena Hollywood - certainly makes sure we enjoy ourselves by attending to everything night after night!
And our final night of the Season was no different - we played a short final game before sitting down together for some pizza and cakes, where Lena was able to reveal the Ladies and Gents Champions. The number of individual points won during the season is a closely guarded secret - only Lena knows the outcome - a wee bit like the Oscars!
No one was more surprised than Ian Fulton when he was named the worthy Gents Champion and received his Trophy from Lena. The Ladies Champion  - once again! - was Margaret Wallace  - always smiling and always hard to beat, and who tells us every week " that it is better to be a lucky Booler than a good Booler! Well done the Champions and Well done to all in the Bowling Group who make our bowling nights good fun and especially to our very own Wonderwoman - Lena Hollywood - you are amazing!!

Easter Morning Service

4/16/2017

Heavy rain showers greeted early morning in Dalmilling, but happily these passed us by and we were able to hold our short outdoor Easter Service, undeterred, in light Rain.

Twenty brave members , dressed for the weather, turned out and braved the elements to celebrate the Easter Resurrection Service led by the Rev. Kenneth Yorke, after which everyone enjoyed a breakfast of hot Bacon Rolls, Hot Cross Buns with Tea and Coffee inside the Church before attending the later Services at Dalmilling and Auchincruive Churches.           Pat Johnston had organised an Easter Egg for everyone at Auchincruive - very enjoyable!

An ode to the morning

Another wee Pen from Ken

An Ode to the Morning

The morning light is here again
A wondrous thing to see!
It daily rises in the East
With faithful constancy.
We wake refreshed to live again
Through yet another day
But if you know why you are here
You're blessed more than you can say!
