Thoughts on St Luke 10 : 25-37
Last Sunday we were looking at the parable of the Good Samaritan.
The surprise in this story is that the guy who stopped to help the unfortunate Jew left lying robbed and injured at the roadside was a Samaritan!
Jews and Samaritans hated one another.
They were rivals .
But when a need arose the Good Samaritan ignored these rivalries and helped.
We all have our own prejudices but to rise above them to do good to someone in need is, according to Jesus, right and neighbourly! After all we are, each one , part of the same human family on earth with God as father of all !
If only folk would live like that Samaritan what a different world we could all enjoy.
Actions can start with us!
Who can you help?
