A Double Bonus! The picturesque village of Straiton provided our Walking Group with a double bonus on Saturday.
They were able to enjoy not one - but two wonderful walks in fine sunny and warm conditions.. The first was a walk of about a mile and a half locally around the river Girvan, and after a picnic lunch, the second of around four miles covering some gentle upland and wooded countryside, both providing ample photo opportunities for our group. Numbers Increasing! As it is School Holiday time, it has been decided to open up the Toddlers Group to include older children, and today saw 28 children, and Parents meet in the Wilson Hall, Dalmilling. The Rev,Betty Smith conducted the first of our combined Congregations Services arranged for the month of July. There was a good turnout from both Auchincruive and Dalmilling, who were able to enjoy Tea and Coffee and delicious home-baking afterwards. There will be one more Service at Auchincruive next Sunday, and the final two services of the month will be held at Dalmilling Church.
All Services commence at 10.30 am. After a wee bit research and much planning, our new noticeboard is now in place at Dalmilling Church.
Designed, hand-built, and fitted by Joiners Tom Mitchell and brother Robin, and with exquisite sign-writing by John Coats of Troon, we now have an imposing and fuctional facility for displaying information regarding our activities to the Dalmilling community. Well done Tom and Robin, and to"Labourer", Ian Fulton and "Tea-Boy", David McMahon for a job well done. The supports will be removed once the concrete has set and new posters will be displayed. Have a look when you are passing. CLICK HERE FOR MORE PICTURES. |
