Church Outing

9/1/2016

Ian Fulton was our Driver for our Outing to The Samye Ling Bhuddist Centre near Lockerbie last Saturday and sported a new hairstyle for the occasion - it might catch on!
We enjoyed some really good weather for the journey and we were able to enjoy some lovely scenery as we travelled through the rolling hills of the Borders on our way to our destination.
When we did reach the Samye Ling Centre, we all were pleasantly surprised with what we saw, firstly by the size of the place, the decoration, the numbers of people there, and by the general atmosphere of peace and calm that enveloped the whole Centre.  We spent at least a couple of hours there- longer than we thought we would - just enjoying the experience of being somewhere so different and peaceful, before setting off for Moffat where we enjoyed a nice meal together.
After a short time looking about, we boarded our bus for our journey home.
Everyone agreed it had been an enjoyable outing, with special thanks to our Driver, Ian Fulton, who displayed marvellous coach-handling skills on some very narrow country lanes
