As you lie in bed and the night won’t set you free
- When painful thoughts chain your mind – I CARE
As your heart breaks in two whilst memories come flooding back
- When your past imprisons every moment – I CARE
As you search your heart for a way to leave the pain
- When every door is locked and there’s no way out – I CARE
As you fear the future should it repeat the past
- When no-one can understand your continual suffering – I CARE
As your friends desert your sinking ship
- When loved ones no longer have a listening ear – I CARE
As all seems lost and life becomes an empty vessel
- When there’s no reason to go on – I CARE
Because my friend, I’ve been there too and that’s why I CARE
