On Saturday morning two car-loads from our Walking Group set off, full of optimism, for the village of Darvel, in the Irvine Valley.
Vickie Mutch, our Walk Leader had put a lot of thought and effort into planning a not too difficult and enjoyable walk in the area of The Lanfine Estate. Unfortunately, Vickie had no control over the weather, and light rain began to fall within minutes of us starting off and we headed uphill into the mist.
As usual, the chat was good, and the stop for a hot cup of tea and a sandwich was a good opportunity for some good- hearted mickey-taking before carrying on through the woods and back through the Estate and home to dry out.
Although a wee bit damp, we made the best of it and enjoyed good company - hopefully it will be drier on our next Walk.
