Unknown to Ken, Wife Greta, under great secrecy, had skillfuly organised a surprise Birthday Dinner for Family, Relatives and Friends at the Ayrshire College.
It was a complete surprise to the Birthday Boy, as he entered the room to encounter an 'epidemic' of Ken Yorkes staring at him, but he soon recovered as he joined his close family relatives and enjoyed a first class meal complete with Birthday Cake.
There was a very humorous tribute from Ken's Cousin who regaled us with many colourful episodes of great times growing up with Ken. We all learned a lot from a 'How well do you know Ken? Quiz - there were many hilarious facts revealed!
The highlight of the evening was Greta's presentation to Ken of his very own set of Tiddlywinks and an extra special gift of tickets to enjoy a Canal Holiday in France. Unusually, Ken was at a loss for words, but soon recovered his composure and warmly thanked Greta, his family and friends who had joined him in celebrating his 80th Birthday. A Great wee night - enjoyed by us all!
