The ferry was packed with excited weans, grabbing a real taste of last minute holiday freedom before going back to school, accompanied by Grannies and Grandads wishing it was here already!! There were lots of bikes - big ones, wee ones, stabilised ones ready to add to the hired ones from Millport's own supply - all ready to enjoy the quiet flat roads that make cycling a pleasure - a trip round the island is only 10 miles.
Millport relies on the good weather to bring the visitors to the shops, bringing welcome business to the town. Being a shopkeeper on a small island is not easy, there are many days when poor weather keeps visitor numbers down and it can be a struggle to stay in business - so it was good to see them "getting a wee turn"!!
Millport in the Sun is just Paradise, as is a Nardini's High Fish Tea wi', Bread and Butter in Largs, after the Ferry trip back over to the mainland.
